BARSTOW – A motorcyclist died after a Tuesday evening crash CHP officials said. At around 5:35 p.m. the motorcyclist identified as 62-year-old Union Grove, Alabama resident, Johnny Lester Seifert was riding southbound on the 15 freeway, approximately one mile north of Old Highway 58 Cutoff.
Barstow CHP Spokesman, Ryan Camara said that for reasons still under investigation, the rider drifted slowly across all lanes into an embankment. “As a result, the rider was ejected from the motorcycle,” said Camara. “Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.”
Seifert, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash was pronounced dead at the scene by responding paramedics at around 5:55 p.m.  The cause of the collision remains under investigation by the Barstow Highway Patrol.

Dear Kobbe Kids, This is Patty Seifert, wife of Johnny Seifert who was a member of your special group. He spent some of his growing up years in Panama as well as a few years when he was in the Army himself. Years were about 1960 - 1969 and 1996 - 1998 (but not positive). He and I traveled to Panama about 3 or 4 years ago - my first visit. He often spoke fondly of his life, experiences, boy scouts and many friends he met there. We were even considering a possible retirement there.
The reason for my post through Johnny's FB to you is because on August 30th he died in a motorcycle accident in Barstow, CA. Johnny collected many "treasures" from Panama during his years there. I need to find a home for most of these things. I thought you who also have fond memories may like to have something that would also mean something to you. I understand if this is not the place to post photographs of these things for you to see them. So, as soon as I can get my feelings and tears in check I will post on Ebay and let you know.
Feel free to contact me if there is anything you think he might have had that you want. I am on FB also.
Thank you,
